Mike Skinner has today announced The Streets will embark on a new run of UK dates in early 2019. The news arrives fresh off the back of his sold out The Darker The Shadow The Brighter The Light tour, which saw them perform across twelve cities in the UK & Europe this month. The eleven shows announced today will commence in Birmingham on 18th January 2019, and per last week's run, will close with three London O2 Brixton Academy appearances.

On each of the recent tour dates, The Streets performed all the greatest hits from his extensive back catalogue of iconic albums including 'The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living', 'Everything is Borrowed', 'Computers and Blues', 'A Grand Don’t Come For Free' and 'Original Pirate Material'.

Over the past few months, Mike has dropped five brand new tracks; 'You Are Not The Voice In Your Head', 'Boys Will Be Boys' feat Jaykae, 'If You Ever Need To Talk I'm Here', 'Burn Bridges' and 'Sometimes I Hate My Friends More Than My Enemies' and has revealed a new album is in the works, which will soundtrack a film he is currently working on.

Franz Ferdinand + Albert Hammond Jr

O2 Academy, Birmingham

Always Ascending’ the new album from Franz Ferdinand, is being released by Domino on Friday the 9th of February.  Nothing short of a rebirth, the album’s 10 songs are a triumphant recasting of the group, bursting with fresh ideas and vigorous sonic experimentation.

Always Ascending’ was recorded at RAK Studios, London and Motorbass in Paris, with the help of French producer extraordinaire Philippe Zdar (Cassius, Phoenix, The Beastie Boys), the mutual affection between band and producer seeping into every dazzling groove. ‘Always Ascending’shows Franz Ferdinand broadening their palate, as exuberant as it is euphoric, creating a sound that singer, Alex Kapranos, refers to as “simultaneously futuristic and naturalistic.”

Franz Ferdinand are Alex Kapranos, Bob Hardy, Paul Thomson, Julian Corrie and Dino Bardot.

The Frontbottoms + Smith Street Band + Bricks & Mortar

The Roundhouse, London

The Front Bottoms have shared ‘Vacation Town’, the second new song to be released off their forthcoming LP, GOING GREY. ‘Vacation Town’ is streaming today along with an official music video – directed by Ryan Baxley – exclusively via NPR’s All Songs TV (http://www.npr.org/event/music/549168688/the-heart-and-humor-of-front-bottoms-shine-on-vacation-town).

Pre-orders for The Front Bottoms new album GOING GREY, are available today at all DSPs and www.thefrontbottoms.com. All pre-orders will receive an instant grat download of ‘Vacation Town’ and GOING GREY’s lead track ‘Raining’. ‘Raining’ debuted earlier this month with The FADER who remarked, “The Front Bottoms make memorable sing-a-longs that call back to a different, simpler, sadder era of confessional guitar music,” while Stereogum hailed ‘Raining’ as, “grand and reflective and damn near arena-ready.” Produced by The Front Bottoms and Nick Furlong at studios in London, Texas, California, New Jersey, and Connecticut, GOING GREY will arrive worldwide on October 13th.

The New Jersey-based band has also announced a U.K. headline tour which will we see them joined by special guests The Smith Street Band & Brick + Mortar. Dates get Underway February 9th in Manchester and continue through the end of the month (see attached itinerary). Presale tickets for the upcoming tour will be on sale to members of The Front Bottoms’ “Motorcycle Club” beginning Saturday, September 9th at 10 AM (local); Local presales start on Monday, September 11th at 10 AM local. Remaining tickets for all dates will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, September 13th at 10 AM local.

GOING GREY finds The Front Bottoms embracing the impermanence of life and finding flexibility in the face of change. Having relocated band headquarters to the coastal New Jersey community of Asbury Park during the demoing stages of the album, GOING GREY sees the band acknowledging the nostalgia of simpler times with admiration, while welcoming the inevitable unknowns of life.

Comprised of guitarist/vocalist Brian Sella and drummer Mathew Uychich, the New Jersey-based band made their Fueled By Ramen debut with 2015’s acclaimed studio album, “BACK ON TOP,” highlighted by singles “HELP” and “Cough It Out” – the latter named by NPR Music as one of its “Favorite Songs Of 2015.” The album earned copious critical attention, with NOISEY declaring “What really hits home with The Front Bottoms is the ragged honesty and raw wound emotional urgency of the songs.” The album also received glowing reviews in Kerrang! (KKKK), Rock Sound (8/10) and Upset Magazine (4*s).

Hailed by NPR as “one of the absolute ten best American bands in a live situation,” The Front Bottoms celebrated BACK ON TOP with nearly non-stop touring, including sold out headline runs and widely applauded sets at festivals like 2000Trees and Coachella (where Rolling Stone declared them among the “30 Best Things We Saw At Coachella 2016”). The band also recently embarked on a nationwide arena tour with blink-182, which included two dates at London’s O2 arena.
